The Ezlase soft tissue diode laser is one of the most advanced dental instruments made today. It creates special highly concentrated light energy, and sends it through an optical fiber to its handpiece. Dr. Bloom uses the handpiece to aim the laser energy at precisely the areas to be treated. The energy used by the ezlase was developed specifically to treat gum and other soft tissue in the mouth safely and comfortably. Unlike traditional periodontal surgery, diode laser instruments are much less invasive and can achieve similar results, without stitches, bleeding or a long recovery time.

Some of the many uses of this incredible instrument include, but are not limited to:

  • Improving your smile by reshaping your gum tissue, safely removing excess tissue that may give you a “gummy” smile, or evening out irregular tissue.
  • Removing excess tissue growths in your mouth such as gum tissue over an unerupted or partially erupted tooth, or removing growths called fibromas.
  • Removing tissue connections that restrict movement of your tongue (tongue ties), or tissue that causes your gums to recede due to lip pull.
  • Removing debris and bacteria between your teeth and gums that can cause gum bleeding, gum recession or even tooth loss.
  • Relieving the pain of cold sores and fever blisters.
